VIRTUAL Free Landmark Lecture: In Pursuit of History by H. Richard Dietrich III, President of the Dietrich American Foundation

Richard Dietrich III will discuss the new book, In Pursuit of History: A Lifetime Collecting Colonial American Art and Artifacts. Simultaneously a catalog and a tribute to H. Richard Dietrich, Jr., who established the Dietrich American Foundation, the book brings to life the passion behind collecting–a passion shared by Tudor Place’s last owner, Armistead Peter 3rd. The lecture will compare H. Richard Dietrich, Jr. and Armistead Peter 3rd’s eye for Chinese export wares, American silver, and Philadelphia side chairs, as well as two portrait miniatures of George Washington with very different stories.
