National Historic Preservation Month Program

Tuesday May 3

5:30 PM  –  7:00 PM

During its 200-year history Tudor Place has been engaged in historic preservation. Through the six generations of the Peter Family that owned the home, to the foundation that operates it as a museum today, preserving this landmark Georgetown home for future generations has been a primary focus.

In commemoration of National Historic Preservation Month, Tudor Place will host a preservation workshop that will explore some of the preservation challenges faced by owners of historic homes. Tudor Place Facilities Manager Sam Young will lead a discussion and tour that will illustrate these challenges, noting recent preservation projects and demonstrating some of the tools of preservation used at the site.

The Tudor Place Historical Preservation Month program will be held on Tuesday, May 3 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Dower House at 1670 31st Street, NW. The program is free but registration is encouraged. For more information or to register, please contact Sam Young at syoung@tudorplace.org.
