Currently on view, Gifts of Christmas Past. This 45-60 minute guided tour takes visitors back in time to experience the transformation of Christmas gift-giving and decorating when handmade traditions gave way to a world of manufactured goods. At the center of our story is the Peter family and their domestic laborers, an upper-class Georgetown household, whose holiday rituals illuminate the wider societal shifts of their time. First guided tour at 11:00 a.m. Last guided tour at 3:00 p.m. should plan to view the garden before the tour. Entry to the garden after 3:30 p.m. is not permitted. The grounds close at 4:00 p.m.
